Airline safety!!!
Safety is a fun job...no wonder i love my job...but it mostly includes trying to find out why we do what we do...and i love investigating stuff for no reason...
Since i have to travel to the interior a lot by plane...i am sick of Airhostes coming to me on each trip uprighting my seat, checking my seatbelt and telling me to turn of my phone...
So...what will happen if i dont put my seat upright...my searching on net and speaking with people from airlines...two different answers i found...
1. it helps in easy escape in an emergency situation...as seat wont be down and person behind can get out easy.
2. so you wouldnt slide down or up when the plane is taking off or landing...
well...i dont know how many people will be stuck behind a leaned airline seat and cant get out in case of am emergency...and how would you suggest being saved if there is an air crash while landing or taking off? i mean lets see statistics of how many survivors were there in recent two crashes happend during taking off...
In August 2008 in spain a bird caught in the jet of the plane, the plane tilts and crashes while taking off...all die but only 24 survive with serious injuries...
Last year in GulfAir crash in Bahrain..no one survives...
So why the hell make us secure and not telling us why when there is not even chances to be safe?!!!
now lets get to Cellphones...
what are the statistics on crashes due to cell phone use? well i couldnt find any...nor people i know have heard of any!!!
some say its a tactic of lowering the cellphone signal tower expenses as several towers will be used from a verticle position than using a single tower while on ground on a horizontal positiong with cell fone...
a quiet interesting opinion from one of OmanServ.com members is, its a insurance company thingy trying to put as many rules possible so claims could be lowered...cant argue on businessmen there
Seatbelt...yes i say its very important as its possible for a plane to drop One meter to Five hundred meters due to air turbulance and i have been once a victim of this drop and had my head crash on the ceiling of the plane...
But...please airlines...its a generation of information we are living in...we find out things easily...come up with a better cover for restricting cellphone use in the plane than that of it could interfere with aircraft communicaiton...u guys are using different freakin frequencies...!!!
